Twenty:20's shooting over
The six-day shoot in the final schedule of the much-hyped muti-starrer Twenty:20, produced and distributed by Dileep on behalf of AMMA (The Association of Malayalam Movie Artiste), has been completed in Kochi. The last day's shooting for the climax was held near the High Court, Ernakulam on Sunday.
All the artists in the film required for the climax in the High Court, including Mammootty, Mohanlal, Suresh Gopi, Dileep and Jayaram, came together for the shoot which has become a large crowd-puller around court premises. An unexpected arrival, Sreenivasan, script-writer of the recent talk of the town Katha Parayumpol (remade in Tamil as Kuselan), evoked huge surprise among the fans gathered. Sreenivasan plays a pivotal role in the film.
The shoot, which was to be completed in one single schedule from December 7 to January 27 in and around Kochi, dragged through several months due to date clashes between the stars. It is also alleged that the delay was caused due to a surplus of ego clashes between the superstars who were playing a one-man-upmanship game amongst themselves.
Meanwhile, the post-production work of the film, directed by veteran Joshy, has started at Lal Media in Kochi and Vismaya in Thiruvananthapuram. Almost the entire shoot is over, except some patchwork. Twenty:20 is expected to be released in the last week of October.
AMMA is making the film as part of a fund-raising drive, hand in hand with Dileep`s 'Grand Production'. Filmmakers claim that equal footage has been given to all stars who are acting for free in Twenty20.
Male actors in the film include Madhu, Mammootty, Mohanlal, Suresh Gopi, Jayaram, Dileep, Prithviraj, Mukesh, Manoj K. Jayan, Balachandra Menon, Kalabhavan Mani, Indrajith, Jayasuriya, Jagathy, Innocent, Harisree Asokhan, Salim Kumar, Cochin Haneefa, Manian Pillai Raju, Indrans, Captain Raju, Rahman, Siddique, Lal, Sai Kumar, Biju Menon and other male members of AMMA.
Female actors include Kavya Madhavan, Navya Nair, Padmapriya, Bhavana, Samvrutha, Vimala Raman, Kalpana, Lakshmi Gopalaswami and seniors like Kaviyoor Ponnamma, Sukumari and others.
The song composed by Suresh Peters is said to be 'Adipoli' and will be a highlight of the film. A lot of hype surrounds the song; the sets by veteran art director Joseph Nellikunnu cost a whopping Rs 60 lakhs, the highest-ever for a Malayalam film song picturisation.
